SPEEDWAY RAINED OUT FOR SECOND TIME IN 2001
CANANDAIGUA, NY - Due to persistent showers, officials at Canandaigua Speedway postponed last night’s stock car racing program for only the second time in 2001. All efforts were put in to push forward with the 4 star racing program, but as the afternoon progressed precipitation continued to saturate the Finger Lakes region stomping out the track preparation diligently being performed by the speedway’s track maintenance crew on the half mile hard clay oval.
The racing action returns to "The Land of Legends" June 30 as FA Products and Victor Reinz present the "Firecracker Frenzy" Fourth of July trackside celebration at Canandaigua Speedway. An invasion for the 2nd time in 2001 by the Empire Super Sprints headlines the holiday show which features a complete program of big-block Modified, Sportsman, Pro Stock and Street Stock competition. A gigantic fireworks extravaganza closes out the 7PM card, making the weekend special one of the biggest of the year in wine country.
