'LAND OF LEGENDS' HOST FOUR STAR-SHOW

CANANDAIGUA, NY...The second round of weekend wars in wine country is set for Saturday as Canandaigua Speedway closes out the month on April 26. A regular show of DIRT Modified, Sportsman, Pro Stock and Street Stock competition headlines the Big Dog Country 103.5 FM Radio program, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the first qualifying heat rolling off the line at 7 p.m.

Four-time, and defending big-block points champion Steve Paine and six-time Ontario County Fairgrounds titlist Bob McCreadie will have their mirrors full as they lead the mighty modifieds in their 35-lap main event paying $2,000 to the victor.

The list of drivers including both McCreadies, Billy Decker, Chad Brachmann, Vic Coffey, Gary Tomkins, Charlie Donk, and Chuck Hebing make the 'Land of Legends' site the one of the most competitive on the entire DIRT circuit.

Additionally in 2003 a separate 358-Modified point race will also be taking place at the track. Only once before in 1996, when "Fast" Freddy Arden took the title, were 358-modifieds recognized at the speedway. Expected to compete in this division will be Randy Chrysler, John Plumb, Ron White and many other drivers from both the Black Rock and Ransomville areas.

For the second year in a row the reigning Sportsman points titlist will be a small-block regular on the DIRT circuit in 2003. Randy Chrysler joins former champion Justin Haers in the 358-modified points battles. This leaves the Sportsman thrown open for a new successor.

A full field of cars is expected to be on hand vying for a spot in the 20-lap main awarding $400 to the winner.

The Pro Stock championship trophy currently rests in the hands of 2002 titlist Jon Miller. The 2000 track points king Jipp
Ortiz returns full time to Canandaigua with the help and sponsorship of JoshComp.

The Ontario County Fairgrounds is located east of the city of Canandaigua, 15 minutes off Exit 43 of the NYS Thruway and just 3/4-mile from Routes 5 & 20 on Townline Road. Track information can be obtained weekly at DIRT Headquarters and on raceday at the Fairgrounds' office 716-394-0691.
