ALL COUNTY CONSTRUCTION, LOZIER GROUP TOP CANANDAIGUA CARD
CANANDAIGUA, NY.....All County Construction and Lozier Analytical Group & ExpressLabs sponsor another big night of racing activity at Canandaigua Speedway on July 13.
The four-star show on the Ontario County Fairgrounds is headlined by a full card of open-wheel DIRT Modified and Sportsman racing plus full-fender Pro Stock and Street Stock action. Qualifying heats begin at 7 p.m.
Area superstars Steve Paine, Gary Tomkins and Tim McCreadie have been among the most successful drivers at Canandaigua as well as on the entire DIRT circuit. The talented threesome has combined for 15 big-block triumphs in 2002 with Paine adding seven more in 358-Modified competition.
All three drivers are ranked among the top-10 in the current Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series point standings with both Tomkins and McCreadie copping a pair of big-block triumphs in extra-distance tour races.
Sweeteners Plus-AC Speedworld teammate Paine (524 pts.), the 2000 overall Hoosier Tire-Sunoco Race Fuels Mr. DIRT Modified points king, has posted a division-high three feature wins to lead the Canandaigua big-block standings. Tomkins (516) and McCreadie (498) have scored two wins each in Ontario County to remain in striking range of the three-time track champion heading into the Fourth of July celebration.
Lewiston invader Randy Chrysler has cracked the winner's circle on four occasions to keep him atop the Sportsman points chart aboard the potent no. 21k Bicknell entry. The aspiring Mr. DIRT champion leads two-time victor John Plumb while Eldon Payne,Jr. (1 win), Todd Henderson (1) and Paul Guererri (2) fill out the front-five.
The Pro Stock ranks have so far been dominated by Olcott traveler Jon Miller and his sleek no. 9 Josh Comp Corp.-backed Pontiac Grand Prix. Miller's track-high total of seven triumphs puts him nearly 100 markers ahead of Roger Chrysler while Jipp Ortiz (2) and James Henry are the only other feature winners.
Adam DePuy (457 pts.) heads the Street Stock ranks by the slimmest of margins over Nick Rizzo (456) although DePuy remains winless and Rizzo reached victory lane three times in the month of June.
