JON MILLER, MILLER RACING AND JOSHCOMP CORPORATION UNVEIL PLANS AND NEW LOOK FOR 2003
After a storied and successful career in the DIRT Pro Stock division, including a dream season in 2002, Olcott, NY’s Jon Miller & Miller Racing along with coveted sponsor JoshComp Corporation under the direction of President George Buksar are proud to announce their 2003 plans to make the transition to the DIRT Sportsman division.
Miller is fresh off the heels of a season that elevated him to superstar status in the full fender ranks at “The Land of Legends”, Canandaigua Speedway where he claimed 9 feature victories enroute to the season ending point’s championship and raised his career total at the Ontario County speed plant to 15. His success also spilled over into the highly competitive Empire Sports Network Pro Stock Super DIRT Series where he claimed 4 victories and earned runner-up laurels at season’s completion. The twenty six year old Miller is ready to take the next step into the world of open wheel competition where the talented chauffeur is sure to find success thanks in huge part to Buksar and the sponsorship provided by the highly touted software developing giant, JoshComp Corporation.
“We'd like to thank George Buksar of JoshComp Corporation, who joined our team for the 2002 season. JoshComp provided not only our team, but Canandaigua Speedway, with the tools necessary for a successful year. As a matter of fact, we won our first championship the year he joined us which says a lot for their support. He (Buksar) is also responsible for our big move to the sportsman division and our new website at www.JonMillerRacing.com being created by Cool Edge Web Graphics, the very same folks that maintain the DIRT Motorsports website,” Miller announced.
Based in Canandaigua, NY, JoshComp Corporation under the direction of Buksar provides technical support services for Crestron & AMX controls systems and videoconferencing equipment. Buksar, a long time racing enthusiast, had attended competitive action at “The Land of Legends” in the past and had always been fascinated with the sport. Early in 2002, Buksar began attending Canandaigua Speedway on a regular basis and at that point decided he would like to be more involved resulting in his company’s introduction into the sport and his partnership with Miller. JoshComp was not only instrumental in the success of Miller during the 2002 campaign, they also showed their support to the entire Pro Stock division at Canandaigua Speedway by awarding weekly awards for both the hard charger and the hard luck driver of the night.
Miller will enter the 2003 DIRT Sportsman wars behind the wheel of a Cliff Miller Jr. owned 2001x Bicknell chassis that was so successfully campaigned by Chad Brachmann in 2001 as he raced to the Dig Safely New York Mr. DIRT Sportsman Championship and a number of 358 Modified victories in 2002. Fans will be immediately astonished by the eye catching new design & paint scheme adorning the team hauler and Miller’s beautifully prepared #9 mount, both painted by Dean Kerrison and professionally lettered by Dan Pilat Graphic Design. Even the helmet that Miller will don during competition will be sharply appealing to the eye as the team unveils an entirely new look for 2003.
Jeff Sheehan and Spina’s Engine Shop will continue to provide the potent powerplant that has been so instrumental in Miller’s consistency & ability to race into victory lane. Along with primary sponsor JoshComp, other notable sponsors joining forces with Miller for his rookie assault on the Sportsman division include Spina's Engine Shop, Granite Engraving, Clifford D. Miller Cemetery Memorials, and M.P.R. 316 (A friend that used to race, Howard Mt. Pleasant) all prominently displayed on his competitive ride. Also offering financial and moral support to the team deserving special mention include grandparents Cliff Sr. & Bev Miller, parents Cliff Jr. (Butch) & Terry, and his beautiful new wife, Kim.
An experienced and proficient crew made up of Lester Dietz, Gary Snyder, Tom Wolmelsdorf, Jeff Sheehan, and Butch Miller will turn the wrenches for Miller as he enters into 2003 competition at Canandaigua Speedway and select Mr. DIRT Sportsman Championship events enabling him to earn valuable seat time in his first season behind the wheel of an open wheel mount.
“I'd like to thank all of my sponsors, especially George Buksar and JoshComp Corporation, for all of their help last season. I'd also like to thank my pit crew, fans and family for all of their support. This really is a team sport and because of all their support it led to the success that I found last season and hopefully all of these ingredients will continue to remain with me throughout 2003 and well beyond,” Miller acknowledged.
