Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Alcohol:
No Alcoholic Beverages may be brought into the facility. Race fans that consume alcohol are encouraged to drink responsibly. You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase alcohol. All alcohol sales will require a picture id as proof of age. We proudly serve beer and assorted wine coolers. Canandaigua may refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to any person for any reason, including without limitations, people who appear to be intoxicated. If the Canandaigua staff sees people appearing to be in violation of the alcohol policy and they believe you are acting contrary to the law, violators are subject to expulsion and arrest.

Pets
No pets allowed within spectator midway or competitors area.

 

Coolers:
Coolers are NOT permitted to be brought into the track and gate security has the right to examine all belongings upon entering the premises.

Novelties:
Our novelty trailer is located in the main concession area where you can check out all our latest racing fashions and pick up your official Canandaigua Speedway and DIRTcar T-shirt, hats, key chains, stickers, apparel and souvenir items.


Emergencies:
In the event of an emergency please notify one of the employees or uniformed security officers in your area.

First Aid:
Canandaigua Speedway employs trained EMTs throughout the facility that will be able to offer both Basic and Advanced life support for both drivers and fans. If you are in need of medical assistance, please contact a member of the v staff or security.

Food and Beverage:
For your convenience we have concession stands conveniently located at the track to serve guests. Canandaigua specializes in all your favorite “Fun-type” foods, including Coca Cola products, Hot Dogs, chicken, sausage, pizza, french fries, fried dough, popcorn, nachos, pretzels, ice cream and more! Prices are reasonable and the food is Tasty!

VIP Suites:
The VIP Suite Tower is available for groups and sponsors who purchase one of our many VIP / Hospitality packages for the team. Entrance is from the turn 4 side behind the main grandstands.


Gate Times:
Every Saturday racing at Canandaigua begins at 7:00 P.M. (hot laps at 6:05) with front gates opening 5:00 P.M. All times are 2 hours earlier during the month of April when temperatures are cooler. Five minutes after the last race is completed for the evening, the pits are open to everyone and fans are encouraged to meet our hometown racing heroes up close and personal and receive an autograph or have a photo taken with your favorite driver.

Victory Lane:
In order for you to accompany a winning driver and his team out in Victory Lane, you must be an event sponsor or track sponsor to join the celebration. We want the celebration to go as smoothly as possible so be patient. Please remember that Victory Lane is a Happy Place and rules of good sportsmanship must apply.

Rain Checks:
In the event of inclement weather which may cause the race to be postponed, fans must listen to the Announcers to determine the rain policy. It is our goal to make every possible concession to get the race completed. You must keep your ticket stub so that ticket sellers will be able to determine which tickets will be honored as rain checks on the scheduled rain date. You must KEEP YOUR TICKET STUB. A lost rain check is like lost money, anyone can use it. You need to listen to the PA system for announcements as to when the rain date will be and what you should do.

Advance Tickets/Gift Certificates:
Advance tickets and gift certificates are available, over the phone or at the track office. Advance sale tickets will be available on the website in the very near future.

Photographs:
Cameras and video recorders are permitted in the stands. Only photographers with race night credentials will be permitted onto the track surface or in Victory Lane. Photographs can be purchased at the track on race day or directly from the photographers.

Lost and Found:
Any items that are lost will be turned into the main ticket office at the track, which is located at the front gate. Check with the track office after the event has concluded or contact the DIRTcar NorthEast office during the week.

Press Box/Media Center/Control Tower:
Only those holding the proper credentials will be allowed to enter the press box/control tower.

Prohibited Items:
To ensure that all fans have a safe and enjoyable visit to Canandaigua Speedway, the following items will be prohibited from the track: Glass containers, Glass Bottles, Weapons, Illegal Drugs, Fireworks, Alcoholic beverages and all other items that in the judgment of Canandaigua management pose a safety hazard or diminish the enjoyment of an event by other fans.

If security finds any prohibited items on you before you enter the track, you must return it to your vehicle or discard of it. Any unlawful items found will be submitted to the police. If a prohibited item is found once you are inside Canandaigua, it is subject to confiscation by security.

Restrooms:
Restrooms are wheel chair accessible with both men’s and women’s facilities located in the fairgrounds building directly behind the turn four side of the main grandstand. Please help us maintain a clean environment by being courteous and do not purposely make a mess.

Security:
Canandaigua security personnel will be stationed throughout the facility. Should you require assistance, please notify the nearest event staff employee. The appropriate person or agency will be dispatched to your location to assist you.

Camping:
Due to Ontario County Fairboard regulations, overnight camping is not allowed at Canandaigua Speedway.


Behavior Policy:
Here at Canandaigua Speedway we want all fans to have the best experience possible, image will not only be shaped by staff, drivers, and teams, but fans as well. Our goal is to make sure that every fan will enjoy the thrills and fast environment of racing. We feel we have created a safe and supportive environment for participants and continue to strive to maintain a family oriented atmosphere. To ensure that all fans have a pleasant experience at our track, please act responsibly in the stands and be considerate of others. Stay away from the fence at all times, and in the event there is an on track accident, please remain seated and do not make your way down to the crash scene. Security personnel will turn you away because it is dangerous and you do not need to be near the accident scene. The throwing of any objects in the stands will constitute removal from the track. Please be courteous to everyone around you. If you are in the reserved section in the stands or in the tower and there is a problem, notify a Canandaigua County staff member or security so they can handle the situation. The Canandaigua gate personnel will respond to complaints of misconduct in the stands. Fans who fail to comply with speedway policy after being warned will be subject to ejection or possible arrest.
