Severe Storms and High Winds Cancel Action at Canandaigua Speedway

Weedsport, NY – April 26, 2008 – By Dan Kapuscinski, Canandaigua Speedway PR and Promotions Coordinator

Several severe storms and high winds forced officials to call it quits at Canandaigua Speedway Saturday, April 26 at around 4pm.  The severe weather pushed in from the mid-west and hammered western and central New York.

“We tried our best to wait out the storms this weekend, but it was a losing battle,” said Canandaigua Speedway General Manager, Jack Deery.  “Once you lose the racetrack it makes for a very long day.”

Canandaigua’s next event will come on Saturday, May 3 with Cinqo de Mayo Night at the Races.  Fans can buy 5 Admissions/5 Hot Dogs/5 Fries/ and 5 Drinks for just $50.  The full roster of DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, and Pure Stox will take the green flag at 5pm.

Remember to pick out your favorite seat for the Personal Seat License program which is available again in 2008.  Along with your personalized seat, you will also receive four DIRTcar “5-Packs.”   Each 5pak coupon is good for (1) admission to all regular season events.  For special events, each coupon can be used as a $12 credit towards admission.

Providing another great deal for fans, single purchases of “5-Pack” tickets can be purchased for $48.

Tickets for all regular season events will be made available at the gate.  Adult general admission is set at $12 for all regular events, $10 for Seniors (Age 65+), $5 for children (Ages 10-14), and those under the age of 9 are FREE.  Pit admission for DIRTcar Northeast members will be $20, while non-members will be admitted for $25.
