Canandaigua Speedway’s 45^th Season Set to Take the Green Saturday

Canandaigua Speedway will open for its 45^th season on Saturday, April 19 with Sponsor Night featuring the mighty DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds.  All race teams in competition can receive four FREE grandstand passes for team sponsors by calling the DIRTcar Northeast Headquarters at 315-834-6606 prior to Saturday.

 

As usual for an April race date, heat races will go off the line at 5pm with the pit area opening at 2pm, and grandstands swinging open at 3pm.

 

Joining the DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds on the weekly card will be the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, and Pure Stox.

 

Last season, Justin Haers bagged the ‘Land of Legends’ season opener.  Haers held off points king Steve Paine for the win over the final ten circuits.  Danny Johnson, Vic Coffey, and Chuck Bower rounded out the top5.

 

The 2008 season is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated campaigns in some time.  Paine and Bower will return as top contenders; however a number of teams have declared their intentions to run at the Finger Lakes oval in ’08. 

 

Gary Tomkins, Matt Sheppard, Jeff Brownell Jr., Gil Tegg Jr., Paul Guererri and others will look to make their mark on the year.  Add in Charlie Donk, Derrick Podsiadlo, and Chad Homan and you have a stellar field of competitors at one of the most historic ovals in New York State.

 

It’s also a great time to pick out your favorite seat for the Personal Seat License program which is available again in 2008.  Along with your personalized seat, you will also receive four DIRTcar “5-Packs.”   Each 5pak coupon is good for (1) admission to all regular season events.  For special events, each coupon can be used as a $12 credit towards admission.

 

Providing another great deal for fans, single purchases of “5-Pack” tickets can be purchased for $48.

 

Tickets for the season opener will be made available at the gate.  Adult general admission is set at $12 for all regular events, $10 for Seniors (Age 65+), $5 for children (Ages 10-14), and those under the age of 9 are FREE.  Pit admission for DIRTcar Northeast members will be $20, while non-members will be admitted for $25.
