Canandaigua Speedway Practice Cancelled Due to Standing Water

Canandaigua Speedway’s practice session, scheduled from 12-3pm, has been cancelled as a result of inches of standing water.  Heavy rains over night overwhelmed both the Speedway and parking areas, forcing track management to make a call early this morning.

 

“The area was hit with a lot of rain both yesterday and over night,” said Canandaigua Speedway General Manager, Jack Deery.  “There is up to two inches of standings water on both the race track and in the parking lots.  We had track crews working at 7am, but it just wasn’t working out.  It is unfortunate when this happens to a practice session, because we know track time means so much to our racers.  Now we just have to look forward to opening day next Saturday.”

 

The 45^th season of racing at Canandaigua Speedway will kick off next Saturday, April 19 at 5pm, grandstands open at 3pm.  The DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, and Pure Stox will all hit the track for Sponsor Night.  Any race team competing that night can call the DIRTcar Northeast headquarters in Weedsport, and reserve up to ‘Four’ FREE passes for their team sponsors.  Teams must call in advance, as passes will not be made available for this promotion at the gate.

 

It’s also a great time to pick out your favorite seat for the Personal Seat License program which is available again in 2008.  Along with your personalized seat, you will also receive four DIRTcar “5-Packs.”   Each 5pak coupon is good for (1) admission to all regular season events.  For special events, each coupon can be used as a $12 credit towards admission.

 

Providing another great deal for fans, single purchases of “5-Pack” tickets can be purchased for $48.

 

Tickets for the season opener will be made available at the gate.  Adult general admission is set at $12 for all regular events, $10 for Seniors (Age 65+), $5 for children (Ages 10-14), and those under the age of 9 are FREE.  Pit admission for DIRTcar Northeast members will be $20, while non-members will be admitted for $25.
