Mr. DIRTcar Doubleheader Showcases Canandaigua 2022 Season-Finale

Super DIRTcar Series action returns to Canandaigua Speedway on Saturday, September 15 with Sportsman and Street Stock point chasers taking on the storied ‘Land of Legends’ half-miler in the season-ending showdown. Mod Lites make a special appearance of their own in the Can-Am Challenge.
Sportsman will be the headline division with top tour travelers attempting to qualify for the Parts Plus 44 main event. Joe Williams leads the current Mr. DIRTcar Series Championship points chart with Dan Wiesner the highest ranking Canandaigua regular in sixth position 93 markers behind. Paul Guererri was recently crowned track champion for the second time in his career at the Ontario County Fairgrounds in ‘07.
Canandaigua drivers will be under the spotlight when the Caprara Bros. Outdoor Toy Store Mr. DIRTcar Street Stock Super Series takes center stage on Saturday. Four of the top-5 in Series points ended the season among the first six in Canandaigua’s standings while track champion Mike Welch sits ninth on the Mr. DIRTcar chart with one feature win.
Joining Welch on the Series winner’s list are current points leader with one victory Scott Smith (4th at Canandaigua), Mr. DIRTcar runner-up Adam DePuy (5th) with three tour triumphs, fourth-place Blane Smith (2nd) and fifth-place runner Nate Peckham (6th) with one win.
Saturday activity starts with pit gates swinging open at 4 p.m. and seating in the main grandstands beginning at 5 o'clock. The track opens up for practice at 6:05 p.m. with qualifying heats green-flagged at 7 p.m. sharp. The adult general admission ticket price is $12, $10 for Seniors (65 yrs. plus) and $5 for children (10-14 yrs.) while those 9 years and under are free. Reserved seats add $2.
Canandaigua Speedway is located on County Road10 at the Ontario County Fairgrounds, just 1-1/2-miles north of Routes 5&20, and is easily accessible from the NYS Thruway (I-90), taking Exit 43 from the west or Exit 44 from the east.
