DIRTcar Racing Fraternity Saddened After Passing Of Joyce Johnson

The entire DIRTcar Racing staff was saddened to hear news about the recent passing of Joyce Johnson, wife of pioneer racer Milt Johnson and mother to DIRTcar Racing Modified drivers Alan and Danny Johnson. Joyce passed away peacefully after a year-long battle with lung cancer at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15 at the age of 70.
Calling hours are Monday, August 20 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Willard H. Scott Funeral Home (585/265-3640), 12 South Avenue at the corner of Routes 250 and old 104, in the village of Webster, N.Y. Services will be held immediately afterwards, 8 p.m., at the Webster Rural Cemetery, located a mile west of the funeral home on Route 104.
Joyce was a loving wife for 49 years to her husband Milt, who captured the 1961 Canandaigua Speedway Sportsman points championship, and an avid supporter of her sons Alan, DIRTcar’s all-time Big-Block Modified feature winner, and Danny, DIRTcar NorthEast’s only five-time Driver of the Year award recipient. She will be deeply missed by Milt, Alan, Danny, Tracy and Sue, and her seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
