World Of Outlaws LM Series Full-Fender Festival Of Speed At Cayuga County

Weedsport, NY – June 19, 2022 – Tom Skibinski, Cayuga County Fair Speedway PR Director

The stars and cars of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will make their second annual appearance at Cayuga County Fair Speedway on Sun., June 24 for the $10,000-to-win 50-lap Championship event.

A complete program of time trials, heat races and ‘B’ Mains will precede the main event. Joining the WoO LMS on the racing card will be the BRP CanAm Series and DIRTcar Street Stocks.

Some of the biggest, most talented names in national dirt Late Model racing will make Cayuga County one of their stops on this season’s huge 48-date, 22-state World of Outlaws tour. Clint (‘Cat Daddy’) Smith of Senoia, Ga., will lead the troops to central New York as the points leader of the series, which has featured a tight, position-swapping battle for the $100,000 championship prize all season.

WoO LMS travelers drivers expected to join Smith in the field include defending Cayuga County race winner Chub (‘Chubzilla’) Frank of Bear Lake, Pa.; Rick (‘Scrub’) Eckert of York, Pa.; Steve (‘Kentucky Colonel’) Francis of Ashland, Ky.; Shane (‘Coconut’) Clanton of Locust Grove, Ga.; ‘The Moweaqua Missile’ Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill., who has won more features than any other driver on this year’s tour; Josh (‘Kid Rocket’) Richards of Shinnston, W.Va.; Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky.; 2006 Rookie of the Year Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, W.Va.; and leading ’07 Rookie of the Year contender Tim Fuller of Watertown, N.Y.

Cayuga County’s regular DIRTcar Big-Block Modified fans will have several familiar faces to follow in the event. Reigning World of Outlaws Late Model Series champion Tim McCreadie of Watertown, N.Y., is making plans to drive his Sweeteners Plus Late Model at Cayuga County, as is Fuller -- who copped his first career WoO LMS main-event victory on June 12 at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.Dak. -- Billy Decker of Unadilla, N.Y. (Fuller’s Gypsum Racing teammate) and Leicester, N.Y.’s Vic Coffey.

Dave Miller won the BRP CanAm portion of the show at Cayuga County last July. Four events have been run so far in ’07, with Larry Knowles (Black Rock), Randy Hall (Merrittville) and Steve Dixon (Woodhull) winning in May while Jim Johnson copped the June 10 show at Humberstone. Heading the list of entries ready and overdue for their first BRP CanAm win are Paul Grigsby, Brady Wonderling, Mikey Wonderling, Tim Dunham, Matt Cobb, Mike Williams and Rich Michael.

Pit gates are scheduled to open at 2:30 p.m., with spectator gates opening at 5 p.m. Warm-ups begin at 6 p.m., followed by time trials at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:00 p.m.

Adult general admission is just $25 for adults (15-64 yrs.), $23 for Seniors (65 yrs. & older) and $8 for youths (10-14 yrs.), while children 9 yrs. & under are free. Pit admission is $25.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members.
