Fans Dip Into DIRTcar Doubleheader At Canandaigua & Cayuga County

Temperatures may dip over the weekend yet fans won’t have to take one even if they show up wearing swimming trunks at Canandaigua Speedway and Cayuga County Fair Speedway. It’s SWIM SUIT NIGHT and anyone arriving at either track decked out in proper swimming attire will be admitted free for the 5 p.m. shows Spectator gates open at 3 o’clock.

Canandaigua kicks off the double dose of DIRTcar Racing on Saturday with a full program of Big-Block Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds, Street Stocks and PureStox. Sponsored by the FingerLakes Mall in nearby Auburn, Cayuga County completes the terrific twin-bill on Sunday with a complete card of Big-Block Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock and 4-Cylinder Enduro racing plus a special appearance by the Central New York Mini Sprints.

Both speedways opened last weekend in dramatic fashion with Justin Haers scoring his first career Big-Block Modified feature win at Canandaigua while Danny Johnson dominated the BB Modified main at Cayuga County. Capturing checkered flags to top their own point charts were Sportsman winners Todd Henderson (Canandaigua) and Rob Pratt (Cayuga Co.), while Andy Fisk (CAN) and Dave Marcuccilli (CCFS) earned first-place trophies in the Ferris Mowers UMP Street Stock division. Both first-time winners, Ryan DePuy copped the PureStox feature at Canandaigua and Jon Shumway claimed the Enduro finale at The Port.

All the ground-pounding action continues this weekend as drivers battle for the early season points lead as the first month comes to a close. Tickets for each show will be available at the gate; adult general admission is $12 for all CCFS regular shows in 2022, $10 for seniors (65 yrs. plus) and $5 for children (10-14 yrs.) while those 9 years and under are free.

Throughout the season unique 5-PAK ticket packages rain available for all regular events at Canandaigua and Cayuga County. Providing a great deal for fans, each 5-PAK of tickets can be purchased for $48.00 which results in the receipt of (1) free ticket.
