Weedsport, NY – March 22, 2022 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing PR Director

The Fingerlakes Mall in Auburn, New York is the featured site as the 2022 DIRTcar Racing Review takes center stage this weekend, March 23-25. One of the final pre‑season off-track events in Central New York, this auto show will include both open-wheel and full-fender race cars representing a number of top regional sanctioning bodies.

“We’ve got quite a diverse group of cars that covers just about every division competing at our track this season,” said Cayuga County Fair Speedway General Manager Jack Deery. “Some Big-Block Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sprints, a Midstate Vintage stocker and an Enduro with a lot of Sportsman machines mixed in. It’s a unique show with the focus put on our local short-track stars and their cars. We’re excited to bring them together to show off their sponsors and new paint schemes before they go trackside for the area openers.”

Heading the Big-Block Mod squad will be driver of the ‘X’ car Chad Phelps, who picked up his first career win at Cayuga County last season during Super DIRT Week, and ’07 Rookie of the Year contenders Russ Hefti and ‘Kid Troyer’ Rob Bellinger. The list of Sportsman entries spotlights Tim Currier, Tom Juhl, Eric Giguere, John Juhl II and Earl Rudy while Bryan Howland (Patriot Sprint) and 14 year-old Sierra Lister (CNY Mini Sprint) further showcase the open-wheel ranks. Teenage Pro Stocker Mike Vaughn, Street Stock veterans Steve Woodworth and Nate Peckham will be joined by Enduro regular Andy Burtless, with Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club president Brad Litzenberger set to display his own 1939 Ford Coupe.

While strolling the mall and snapping candid car and driver shots, race fans will also be able cast some votes, one for their favorite Central New York track logo ---Cayuga County Fair Speedway, Rolling Wheels Raceway and Canandaigua Speedway--- and the other in Cayuga County’s own Enduro division naming contest. Other activities going on at the mall include a fishing contest for kids at Bass Pro Shops as well as a special visit by the Easter Bunny at center court.
