Speedway Specials Highlight Upcoming Schedule In Canandaigua

As the temperatures begin to rise so does the competition during the 2006 race season at Canandaigua Speedway. Along with some of the most exciting side-by-side short-track shows featuring open-wheel DIRT Modified and DIRT Sportsman plus full-fender DIRT Street Stock action, it's another full slate of summer activity at the historic ‘Land of legends’ oval.

Promotional activity is also heating up at the popular Ontario County Fairgrounds as the track enjoys its 30th consecutive year of operation under the DIRT MotorSports banner at the familiar Routes 5& 20 location.

“We’re proud to be able to support our local agencies, and including some special nights at the speedway is just another way to show our appreciation,” said Canandaigua Speedway General Manager Jeff Farney. “Providing good, clean family entertainment is our goal and given the opportunity to work more closely with the local community is a bonus for the entire DIRT organization. The speedway has a great product to offer, something that’s attractive for both fans and sponsors, and we feel confident that once they see a show they’ll be regulars here for years to come.”

Along with a mixture of new and traditional programs in place at Canandaigua Speedway, cheaper ticket prices throughout the season are another sign of fan appreciation on race night. From special nights for fathers, students and scouts to those designed to acknowledge local law enforcement officers, every Saturday will offer some type of show of appreciation to those that make racing at Canandaigua a weekly priority. In fact, there is even a specific date designated as ‘Fan Appreciation’ night (Aug. 12) on the 2006 track schedule with even more savings available.

Upcoming Special Promotions at Canandaigua Speedway:
*June 10 - Scout Night - all scouts and scout leaders admitted free in uniform, troops and packs are encouraged to sit together – CNY Mini Sprints;
*June 17 - Father's Day Special - $20 per car load – DIRT Mod Twin 20s;
*June 24 - Schools Out Special - Students aged 11-18 admitted free;
*July 1 – Military Appreciation Night – members of military free with proper ID - FIREWORKS;
*July 8 - Law Enforcement Night - Area Police and Corrections Officers admitted free with proper identification – Double Track Points.
