The second round of weekend wars in wine country is set for Saturday as Canandaigua Speedway resumes action on April 22. Opening night winner and defending big-block points champion Steve Paine will have his mirror full as he leads the mighty DIRT Modifieds in the 35-lap main event paying $2,000 to the victor. Ranked third all-time at the Ontario County Fairgrounds, Paine has now steered his no. 7x Tallmadge Tire-Terrell's Potato Chips, Geneva Homes, Pabst, Swarthout Recycling & Container Services and J&M Roofers & Builders/TEO machine into victory lane 71 times since 1984 to top the early season point standings.

The list of high-caliber drivers chasing Paine in the chase for the coveted track championship includes touring pros Gary Tomkins and Vic Coffey plus rising stars Justin Haers and Matt Sheppard. The addition of top locals Todd Burley and Charlie Donk with Western New York travelers Chad Brachmann and Randy Chrysler continues to make the 'Land of Legends' site one of the most competitive on the entire DIRT NorthEast circuit.

Reigning Paine Motorsports Sportsman points king Scott Schrader is back aboard his potent no. 58 Fox’s Auto-Dar’s Auto/Bicknell entry in his bid for a third season championship in Ontario County. Look for opening night winner Todd Henderson along with open-wheel veterans Paul Guererri and Danny Wiesner to contend weekly in pursuit of high-point honors. A full field of cars is expected to be on hand vying for a spot in the 25-lap main.

A pair of Street Stock championship trophies are on the line in Canandaigua’s weekly full-fender divisions. Blane Smith captured the 15-lap Parts Plus Auto Stores Expert feature on opening night while Charles Vohs placed 11th and was the highest finisher among JSB Graphics Novice competitors.
